Community Engagement

We undertake community engagement activities that involve local people, in order to create transformative change in Tipton

Why we do what we do

We believe in the people of Tipton

  • As local residents, we love our community and want it to thrive.
  • We recognise the untapped potential all around us.
  • Every resident is an asset, we help people believe in themselves.
  • A community-based approach meets real needs by bringing people together.

What makes us different

Co-production, always

Led by the community

Co-production is at the heart of all activities β€” we only do what the community wants, with residents co-leading. Nothing more, nothing less.

Trusted locally

We are from the community and know the community well. Building trust is so important to us so we always endeavour to do what we say we will and are always transparent when we cannot deliver.

Proven impact

We measure our success through outcomes that matter, improved wellbeing, increased confidence, reduced isolation and stronger social connections. It's not just about bums on seats for us, it's about lives changed!

Services you can refer into

Lifeline Counselling

Lifeline Counselling

A low-cost counselling service catering to local individuals aged 18 and above. This service is designed to assist those seeking to resolve deep-rooted issues and is facilitated by a team of qualified BACP counsellors.

We offer support to those experiencing low-level mental health issues, offering up to 12 weeks of counselling through funded counselling support or a charge of Β£15 per session. Currently, we are working with Sandwell Best Start Family Hubs to offer counselling support to parents with children aged 0-2.

Lifeline ARC

Lifeline ARC, Advocacy, Restorative & Community

A powerful initiative bringing together many of our services under one umbrella. Through Lifeline ARC, we aim to address the broader issues that impact mental health and wellbeing.

Through exercise, advocacy and wellbeing programmes we create safe, inclusive spaces where people can heal, grow and thrive, from navigating complex systems to a listening ear and a hot meal.

Love Your Life Kidz

Love Your Life Kidz (HAF & CAP)

An ongoing programme boosting confidence, emotional wellbeing and educational attainment in children and young people across Princes End and beyond. We work closely with schools, social workers and families to support children facing challenges at home.

LYL Kidz plays an active role in the Sandwell Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, and contributes to Create a Payable Sandwell (CAP), meaningful, accessible opportunities that reduce inequality and promote positive futures.

Sandwell Best Start Family Hubs

You guys have helped me out in the past with stuff, with housing issues and benefits. I've known you both for years so I'm comfortable and your easy to talk to. You've always done stuff in the community, so I know you don't judge. Some places we've tried are clicky so we've not gone back. Your literally over the road from my house, I do drive over when M is struggling but we can walk over with the buggy. I know you'd look after M and the bab, if I'm not there

Family Hub Spoke, Tipton Green

Family Hubs offer the right help, in the right place, at the right time, offering services and support for all families in Sandwell with children aged 0 to 19 (or 25 with SEND), and extra support is available for families during pregnancy and in your baby's first years.

Family Hubs come in all shapes and sizes! We have several spokes around the borough, including our specialist SEND and mobile spoke, to ensure all families in Sandwell can access our services. We aim to improve the lives of parents, carers, and their children by providing support and connecting families to other resources.

Now based out of St Paul's Community Centre, we deliver play support and emotional wellbeing support for local families who need a helping hand. Join us for our Mum's on Seat and Life Tots sessions, and check out our timetable for more information.

Lifeline counselling has saved me from me. I have learnt how to deal with toxic energy and how to direct positive energy. Sue is amazing and feels more like I'm talking to a friend than a counsellor.
